This weekend, Saint Clement Basketball begins its 2017-18 season. 15 games will be played across all levels beginning on Saturday. Home games at St. Vincent de Paul will begin on Saturday, December 2nd. Go Wolverines!


With a 28-6 victory over Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy on Saturday, the Wolverines finished the regular season with a 5-1 record and a #3 seed in next Saturday's the CCYL Flag Football Playoffs. The team will face the #2 seed, Alphonsus Academy & Center for the Arts, in the CCYL Semifinal, with the winner facing either Hardey Prep or Frances Xavier Warde. The game will be at 9:30 AM at Sheridan Park, with the CCYL Championship game taking place immediately after.


On Saturday, the Varsity Flag Football team won its fourth consecutive game of the year over Frances Xavier Warde, 22-7, improving to 4-1 on the season. They are currently in fourth place in the Chicago Catholic Youth League, and their last regular season game is this Saturday at 8:30 AM against Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy. Playoffs are the following Saturday on November 4th.


On Friday, Saint Clement hosted its very first home volleyball matches in school history. The 6th Grade Girls were defeated by the Saint Andrew Bulldogs in the opening match, and the Varsity Girls were defeated by the Saint Josaphat Hawks in the following match. The Varsity Girls Volleyball team was honored before their match with introductions and posters made by the JV Girls Volleyball team. The Saint Clement Color Guard also performed in between matches for the crowd. Thanks to all of the players, coaches and families that made it a special night, and good luck to all Saint Clement Volleyball teams in the playoffs.


On Saturday, the Saint Clement Cross Country team competed at the IESA Sectionals meet at Midlothian Meadows, hosted by Old St. Mary's. 7th Grade runner, Avery Bennett, qualified for the IESA State meet in Bloomington this coming Saturday, with a top-finishing time for the Boys. Congratulations to Coach Sitzer and the Cross Country team on a successful and memorable season.
